Hello Mrs. Joyce's class!I just thought that I would leave you all a little message on my blog and tell you a bit more about myself. This is a picture of my girlfriend Vanessa and I when we first moved to Portland. Before this we were living in Montana which does not border the ocean; so as you can see we were excited to be near the water. They may not have the ocean where we were living out west but they do have beautiful mountains and rock formations like these.
Before we moved back to Maine we really wanted to see the country. So we packed up our truck and drove all around the different states visiting national parks. The two of us saw everything from Redwood and Sequoia trees, to the ancient Native American dwellings at Mesa Verde.
Now that the two of us have settled in Maine we can start working in the careers that we love. Vanessa is an esthetician working in a day spa, and I spend my days in the classroom with you amazing kids!

Nice blog, Mr. C! This is John, and here are some things about myself. I love sports. Baseball, basketball and soccer are my favorites to play. I am a fan of the Yankees because they're awesome! The Celtics are great, too. I hope the Steelers will win the Super Bowl! I like writing, spelling, and math in school. I'm in the Boy Scout troop. We do cool things like hiking, canoeing, and camping. I don't have any pets or siblings. I love reading a book which is what I'm doing almost all day today. See you in class!

hey it's Sarah I just got back from my brothers basketball game.I have 1 brother whose 13,and 1 sister whose 16 and has her liscense.u picked a great class.I enjoy gymnastics and ballet.I love just talking and hanging out with my friends.They're awesome!!!!!!!!!The book that I would recomend is "a child called it"it's sad but has a great message.By the way this is an awesome blog.c u on monday!!!!!!!!!ttyl!:) :! :+ :( :#

Hi! My favorite sport is swimming. I have a brother named Russell he is 13 and is in the 7th grade. Russell has a yellow lab named Sunny. I have a cat that is named Holly she has black and light gray strips and beautiful green eyes. My favorite book series is by Diane Mott Davidson. The series is about a caterer named Goldy and her husband Tom Schulz who solves crimes.

Hi! I like your blog! Where in Montana did you live? It's a beautiful state! Maddy has wanted to go since I went there for a week without her when she was 3. She has actually been to 26 states, and the canyon in Utah that she couldn't remember the name of was Bryce Canyon. We've been to lots of other canyons too, including a really cool slot canyon near Page, Arizona that looked kind of like the one in your picture.

The author of this book is Brian Jacques, like lakes, he is so amazing with his writing! He writes SO DISCRIPTIVELY!! Although, he discribes all the food... ALL the food! One feast took up an entire page and a half! Just listing them!
The story is about mice (and a few other types of woodland creatures, such as moles, a badger, and squirrels)that live peacefully in their abbey, untill Cluny the Scourge (scurrge)has decided to invade and take redwall for himself! The creatures must take action quick, or their home will be lost!

both of the books you mentioned are awesome! ember is great and probably a more universal-appeal read for the students, though you would probably really dig the house of the scorpion more.

In Ancient Rome is a time when the Roman Empire existed and at the peak most of Europe is included. Also the Romans were known for architecture and army and government. The empire existed from 100b.c to 500a.d.....:)

I learned that Jupiter is the god of gods and that there was a big temple in Rome dedicated to Jupiter.I also didn't know that the planets were named after the gods, cool! I'm also glad that you are here at this school.You really have been a big help to the class! THANKS!

Hi it's Sarah Buotte I was just writing to say hi and ask if you like working with middle schoolers and tell you that people in this school and in this class like doing hands on activities. I think that we grasp what we're learning better if we do hands on things or activities that take part in learning a new unit or studying for a test. Also it's fun and it's also good to do it just because.
