So....Now you have done a little exploring on my portaportal. Hopefully you have found some new info and gotten a taste of how cool these people that we call Romans were. I wonder if you know who this guy is.
Or what went on in places like this.

What I want from you guys is your input, your questions, but most importantly, your honest opinion. I want this blog to be a place where you can tell me exactly what you think and a place where you feel comfortable expressing yourself. If you don't want your comment published just write that at the end and I will be the only one reading it. Tell me what you learned and what you thought was interesting. If you really didn't think anything was cool then let me know, but please tell me what would catch your interest and how I could make this Rome unit more fun. Now its up to you...let me have it!
Please leave your comments on this posts comment space (not the earlier ones). That way it will be easier to keep track of everyone's thoughts.
See you kids later!

Wow! Rome is so amazing!!!! :) I love the colluseum and how the people would fill it with water! I learned this strategic move called "Tortoise" A 'tortoise' was when the soldiers lifted the shields flat above their heads so that they protected them from any missiles thrown at them from on high.
Awesome! And a cool fact is that if all else fails in war, like if you break your weapon you go to your "Pugio" or dagger.
Rome rules!
Hail Cesar,
Leah

Hey Mr. C! Nice voices on the podcast! I learned that, just like Greece, Romans had a ton of slaves. Apparently, 25% of the population was made up of slaves! Emperors could have up to 20,000 slaves. I like the chariot racing and sporting events that the Romans did. I wish I could go back in time and see them, because admission was free!

What i thought was interesting was that that they didnt eat big meals. There main meal was pottage. Theyn also eat wheat, barley, and olive oil. Also they wore togas, tunic, underwear, shoes, jewellry, and hairstyles. Thaqts what i think is interesting

I learned alot from those few websites that I read. Here is just a few of the things that I found that I didn't know or was interesting:if a slave killed its owner in Rome than all the other slaves working for the master would be killed too. I also didn't know the new names for the gods and goddesses and the info. that Rome used to be.
HEY ITS TYLER I THINK THE LEANING TOWER HAS A WEEEEEEEIRD NAME. WHAT I THOUGHT WAS INTERESTING WAS THAT THE ROMANS HAD 22 GODS AND GODDESSES. BYE
Rome is sooo cool! One thing i thought was interesting was that different colors of togas meant something. I did not know that they ate a stew called Pottage. Pottage is made of wheat, millet or corn, and sometimes cooked meat. i never knee rome was so interesting.
there is a mensinger god in rome in Greek it was hermes but not in rome.
some rich rome peoples had their slaves run up to mountains to get snow 2 make snowcones. somthing intrestin was that romans liked 2 watch other people die (which is really really really BADDDDDDDDDDDD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
what up its Zach. I think its cool that rome keptthe greek god apllo the same when they adapted the greek religion. As Leah said im also amazed of the collusem and how they filled with water. pretty high tech for that age in time. cant wait to learn more. bye
One thing I lerned was that there was a god of doors.
The interesting ting i learned is that all of the planets were named after the Romen gods(I already knew that they were named after gods I just did not know which ones)! I also learned that the god of love is Cupid.
Rome is the best! I learned that there is a ton of gods such as cupid. which I did not know was a god from Rome.
i learned some more greek gods that i didnt know about and what they do in the colluseum i also didnt know how it got it's name, im happy that its name is rome instead of the other one. good job on the podcast.
Rome is so awesome!!!!!!!!!
i'm so happy to be learning about this interesting civilization. ...just kidding!!!one thing I learned was that there are 22 gods and goddesses. Also, most of the gods and goddesses are very similar to greek gods and goddesses
its cool how they filled the colluseum with water to have naval battles. And I learned some roman gods
ABBY PERKINZZ
Cupidity means greediness.
Cupid was the mischievous little god of love. His weapon was a bow, and anyone hit by one of his arrows fell madly in love.
hey its S@D!E.
i didn't know that gods were named after planets like Jupiter Neptune and others. That's pretty cool!!! it's interesting how some people just focuses on how civilization changed over time.
i changed my name yet again...so now im Emily The Strange
I learned that uranus was the god of saturn, and something i thought was interesting was the amount of gods.
a new thing i learned was that ceres is the roman goddess of the earth and that also they filled the collosieum with water to have navil battles.
Rome is very amazing. Everyday Romans went to a giant bath house to bath and to clean themselves. The food was cool to learn about as well. Breakfast and lunch were very simple except the dinner was this giant feast served in three courses. Rome is awesome !!!
I didn't know that the Roman gods were based on the Greek gods and the planets were named after them.
The thing i learned that 753.b.c was when the first settlements astableshed. The thing i thought was interesting was that the empire included most of europe, northern africa and middle east.
i think Rome is wicked awesome!plus, its amazing that we have taken so much from them, like naming the planets, and weopons'n junk
i think it should be around and shouldnt be around because my owner was super nice but gave me a super hard paper though
I don't think there should be slaves should be around today because i don't think it is right.
I did nothing I did not own a slave and I was not a slave
I think there shouldnt be slaves because they treated me meanly and its not fair that slaves have to do it and OTHER PEOPLE CANT GET OFF THERE LAZY BUTTS AND DO IT lol ididnt mean it like that
